Education
The Dream Center offers two programs for Title 1 students in DeSoto County. The Elementary Education program focuses on 3rd-5th graders, providing reading and math enrichment through game based activities and homework assistance. The Leadership Program serves middle and high school students using leadership materials in small group environments to help develop strong character traits and help prepare the students for a successful future.
The Dream Center Education Program has been a vital part of a rise in school grades, improved behavior in the classroom and an increase in self-confidence of the children who regularly participate. Relationships have been forged and hope is being restored.
Elementary Program
3rd - 5th Grade
The Elementary Program is designed to provide free educational assistance and a variety of activities to children whose families would not otherwise be able to enroll them in academic assistance or activity programs. The consistency of the Elementary Program is designed to help build a solid foundation that will encourage the students to work hard toward a bright future.
The Dream Center partners with local schools in order to align tutoring with what is being taught in the school and select specific target areas that are most important to help the students be successful.
Adult Education Program
The Dream Center is eager to meet the needs of the entire family. Various classes are offered on topics such as financial literacy, ESL (English as Second Language), health and wellness.
Leadership Program
Middle and High School
The Leadership Program develops the abilities of the next generation in order to make a positive impact in their community. This program serves middle and high school students from various DeSoto County schools. We use leadership materials in small group environments to help develop strong character traits and help prepare the students for a successful future.
Summer Program
Throughout the summer the students meet for one on one tutoring to work on areas of study that they need to improve on before the next school year.
Students give back to the community through various community service projects.
